About

Duncan is a saxophonist in his early twenties currently studying jazz performance at Trinity College of Music in London. He has been gigging since he was 16 years old and has performed and toured around Prague, Spain, Poland and Ireland as well as playing regularly around London and other parts of England including an appearance at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Duncan runs an open jam session at Epsom Jazz Club (the White Horse, Epsom) every sunday night starting at 7.00pm. It's open to anyone who can play or sing, and there is also a special offer on a roast dinner for £5 with a valid student card. Hope to see you there!

Saxophone Tuition

In addition to his activities with The Jazz Funk Ensemble Duncan also has a busy tuition schedule with students of various ages. Most of his teaching takes place in south west London but also extends abroad as a tutor at the Dordogne International Jazz Summer School.

The Jazz Funk Collective

A band made up of young musicians from the Worcester Park, Epsom and Ewell area. Founded in 2004 as Ewell Jazz Ensemble, the new name was adopted in January 2006. They play a set of material written by Duncan for the group. The idea of the group is to develop improvisational techniques and band interaction in a live jazz setting as well as having loads of fun rehearsing, recording and performing around the local area and beyond. Their first tour will take place in August 2006 in Ireland. A sample from their first recording session is available below.
